Meet the maker

Hey there! I’m Claire, the one girl band behind She Wore Flowers. I’m a maker, photographer and all round creative soul.

One day while I was crafting on my kitchen table I discovered a particular joy in making jewellery to match the fun fabrics in my vintage clothes collection. At first I made pieces just for myself, but quickly I started getting requests from friends (and their friends!) and so began She Wore Flowers.

Each piece is thoughtfully handmade in my studio in Melbourne, Australia using a wide range of materials. I am inspired by funky floral vintage + the gorgeous flowers surrounding my home, and I draw on this when creating my pieces.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been obsessed with making art. I come from a family of artists, and I have fond memories of spending my childhood creating all kinds of paintings and sculptures. My passion for making only became stronger as I grew, leading me to pursue a career as a full-time photographer - capturing memories and telling love stories.

In 2020, while the pandemic was in full swing and we were all locked down in our homes, I picked up clay for the very first time to occupy my restless hands. From my first pair of earrings I was hooked! And a small passion grew into something more special than I ever could have imagined.

I started with a few sales on Etsy, which grew to more than 3000 pairs shipped out around the world and stockists all over Australia. I now spend my days creating my pieces in my home studio in Melbourne with my pup side-kick Monty! My vision for She Wore Flowers is to create pieces that spark joy, celebrate uniqueness and bring a little bit of fun to your life ♥
